Kitchen Team Member

Pay: $13–15 / hour
Type: Part-time or full-time
Location: In person — Curry Creations, Beaumont, TX

Cook and assemble made-to-order Indian-fusion dishes in a modern, tech-forward kitchen. Our guided kitchen display walks every order step-by-step, so you always know exactly what to prep next — you focus on great food, the system handles the chaos.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble menu items to recipe and food-safety standards
Work the guided kitchen display: claim orders, follow prep steps, mark items ready
Keep stations stocked, clean, and organized through the shift
Help with receiving, prep lists, and end-of-day closedown
Greet pickup customers and hand off orders when front-of-house needs a hand

About you

Reliable, punctual, and comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen
Food handler certification (or willingness to obtain one — we help)
No experience required — the guided system trains you as you work
Weekend and evening availability is a plus

AI Research Assistant — Food Systems

Do applied AI research inside a real, running restaurant. Curry Creations operates on a production platform we build ourselves — demand forecasting, LLM-based receipt understanding, kitchen process optimization, and a privacy-preserving computer-vision roadmap. Your models ship to a live kitchen, and strong results become publishable working papers.

What you'll work on

Demand forecasting for a zero-waste kitchen — time-series models on real order history
Vendor-receipt entity resolution — LLM canonicalization of noisy, multilingual ingredient names
Prep-flow optimization — scheduling and bill-of-materials modeling for one-to-two-person kitchens
Queue-aware ETA modeling for live order tracking
Privacy-preserving computer vision — activity recognition where segmentation removes faces and assigns anonymous track IDs before any analysis

Responsibilities

Prototype, evaluate, and ship models against real operational data
Design honest evaluations — we publish measured results, not aspirations
Write up findings; co-author working papers targeted at applied AI venues
Present progress in a short weekly research sync

About you

Student or recent graduate in CS, ML, statistics, HCI, or a related field
Comfortable with Python or JavaScript and modern ML tooling
Curiosity about real-world systems — restaurants are gloriously messy data environments
Coursework or projects in NLP, forecasting, or computer vision are a plus
